Cookies and Browser Storage

This page is under review and may change before launch.

How do cookies and browser storage differ?

A cookie is a small file that your browser can send back to the site with later requests. Your browser's local storage keeps data on the same device. Both can be used to keep your choices or make a feature work; this page explains which ones are in use and what each is for.

Your location choice

ShabAvaz keeps your country or city choice in your browser's local storage. This data includes the place's identifier and name and the coordinates of the city centre. If you choose your current location yourself, the coordinates received from your browser are also saved in the same storage. Your choice stays until you change it on the site or clear this site's data in your browser. For nearby searches, the coordinates may be sent to the server with the request.

Admin sign-in and settings

Admin sign-in uses a strictly necessary session cookie that is valid for up to seven days and is used only on Admin panel paths. The Admin panel language choice is saved in the administrator's browser storage. These are needed for the panel to work and do not require ordinary visitors to sign in.

Visit statistics and your choice

In the current version, the GA4 tag is not active and does not load without a real measurement ID and a valid choice from you. If it is enabled later, its purpose, storage technology, retention period and how to change your choice will be added to this page. Non-essential advertising tools will likewise not be enabled before they are clearly described and the necessary choice has been made.

Form security checks

Once the forms are open, the security check may use browser storage or access technology. Before it is enabled, the name of the service, its purpose, the information it can access and a link to its policy will be added to this page.

Control and clearing

You can change your selected location on the site and delete this site's cookies or local storage through your browser settings. Deleting the session cookie ends an Admin sign-in. If a non-essential tool is enabled in future, an easy way to refuse it or change your choice will be available.
