ShabAvaz is being built to help you find events that appeal to Iranians living abroad and to others interested in Iranian culture and communities. From music and theatre performances to festivals, exhibitions, cultural programmes and community gatherings, our aim is to make it easier to find the right event in the city where you live or the place you are travelling to.
Which events appear on ShabAvaz?
Being held in Persian is not the only criterion. A performance by an Iranian artist, a programme connected to Iranian culture, or a local event suited to an Iranian audience can also be featured on ShabAvaz. Each event page is meant to help you check for yourself what the event is about, when and where it takes place, and how to reach its source or tickets.
Where are we starting?
ShabAvaz initially focuses on Europe and destinations near Iran, including Turkey, the UAE, Armenia and Georgia. This focus does not mean that every city or event is listed. Coverage of each city grows with reliable information and the events available there.
How is event information prepared?
Information can come from event sources, manual entry by our Admin team and, in future, event submission requests. Part of the collection and translation is automated. Events whose key details are uncertain, that lack a suitable image or that need review stay in the Admin queue before publication. Published information may also change later at the organiser's or source's end; before buying tickets or going to the venue, check the final details with the official source.
Corrections and suggestions
If an event's information is wrong or incomplete, once the contact form is open you can send the event link and a short note about what needs correcting. Event submissions and advertising enquiries will likewise be sent from their own pages once those forms are open. Sending a request does not mean an event will be published or a partnership accepted.
